Waukesha Christmas Parade Massacre suspect Darrell E. Brooks Jr. has long history of Taunting the Justice System
The driver of an SUV that is suspected of murdering 5 and seriously injuring 48 others as he mowed through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, had a long history of pushing against a justice system that apparently offered little in the way of preventative resistance.
As far back as 1999, Darrell E. Brooks Jr. was reportedly a violent fuse burning brighter and hotter after each failure of prosecutors to adequately extinguish his burgeoning criminal career.
Firearms offenses, battery charges, and then felony sex charges netting him only three years of probation in 2006. More sex crimes violations in 2016 resulting in Nevada bail-skipping where Brooks would go on to reside several times in Wisconsin jails, without being extradited.
Only a fortnight ago, Brooks was released on domestic abuse charges. Ominously, Brooks had allegedly run over a woman in a parking lot leaving tire tracks on her pants.
As reported by CNN:
Prosecutors filed five charges related to the incident including: obstructing an officer, second-degree recklessly endangering safety with domestic abuse assessments, disorderly conduct with domestic abuse assessments and misdemeanor battery with domestic abuse assessments. Brooks was also charged with bail jumping, because he was already out on bail following a July 24, 2020, incident, according to court Documents.2
The bail for this laundry list of violent criminal behavior, just over in Milwaukee, WI, was the astonishing sum of only $1000. But rest assured that, in light of the Waukesha Christmas Parade Massacre, the DA’s office has now started an internal investigation over that ridiculously low, poultry sum. And the Waukesha DA, despite the fact that there is no provision for holding a person without bail there, will reportedly ask the judge to set an amount unattainable by the suspect.
Just so there is no mistaken bail amounts this time, or failures at contained, incarceration, the suspect has been identified as a 39-year-old black male, with dreadlocks, and a beard. He is a registered sex offender with an extensive criminal background.
[Editor’s Note: Massacre, noun, 1. The act or an instance of killing a large number of humans indiscriminately and cruelly. For reference: the Kent State massacre of May 4, 1970 had 4 deaths; the Chinatown, San Francisco massacre had 5 deaths; the Greensboro massacre of November 3, 1979 had 5 deaths.]
