What Sanctuary Cities Cost Americans

The costs Americans are burdened with as a result of the policies of Sanctuary Cites are ones that are truly grievous to be borne. Not only is it a staggering financial burden on Americans, in hundreds and hundreds of cases it literally costs them their lives. Before establishing some of the horrendous drains sanctuary cities put on Americans—both living and those yet to be born who will still be paying for the tabs illegal immigrates are running up—we should answer the question:

What is a Sanctuary City?

A Sanctuary City, or county, or even a state, is a locality that declines to cooperate with Federal law enforcement officials in enforcing Federal immigration law. This means that when immigration criminals are arrested, and their finger prints are routed through the FBI data base revealing that they are in this country illegally, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), who monitors those hits for immigration violations, responds to those data base hits by requesting that the illegal alien be detained for ICE; those localities simply ignore ICE detainer requests and release illegal alien criminals back on to the streets to continue to engage in criminal activities against Americans.

To compound this sanctum sanctorum ad absurdum, many officials—like governors, mayors and sheriffs—in sanctuary localities instruct their law enforcement personal to refrain from even obtaining imagination status of criminals they arrest; criminals who speak little or no English, do not possess any identification, and who require tax-payer funded translators to be processed through our court systems.

What, exactly, you may ask is ‘Sanctuary’?

Sanctuary it something a sovereign power gives to an individual. Simply put, to give sanctuary is to provide a place of refuge or safety. So, those sanctuary localities that are providing ‘sanctuary’ to illegal immigrants are providing refuge to illegal aliens who have broken federal immigration laws.

And they know it. The prevailing argument used by some law enforcement agencies when pressed to make sense out of this nonsense is if illegal aliens fear deportation would result from contacting local law enforcement to report a crime they would rather allow others, or themselves, to continue to be victimized.

The rebuttal is simple and, in itself, virtually problem-solving: If you are in this country illegally, you have no right to protection from law enforcement.

Aside from the legal ramifications of this illegal sanctuary practice, we need to ask the question:

What is the cost to Americans for providing this ‘sanctuary’ to illegal alien federal law breakers?

Available figures show that the cost is contributing to what can only be described as American economic suicide.

As of 2013 (so all these figures cited are exponentially higher for 2017), the state of California had an annual expenditure of $25.3 billion on services for illegal aliens. That equates to a burden approximately $2,370 per U.S. Citizen household.[1]

For all states combined, the annual expenditure on illegal aliens was about:

$84 billion.

At the federal level, expenditures for illegal aliens was about:

$29 billion.

The total combined expenditures for illegal aliens was about:

$113 billion.

On the national level, figures for expenditures on illegal aliens included, but were not limited to:

$2,107,800,000 for education (Title I program—an array of support programs through secondary school for low income families, Title III program—support programs through secondary school of English learners.)

$5,949,900,000 for medical care (emergency medical care, fraudulent use of Medicaid, Medicaid cost of childbirth, Medicaid for children, etc.).

$7,838,700,000 for law enforcement (federal incarceration, detention and removal, etc).

$4,564,600,000 for public assistance (free and reduced meal programs, housing assistance, etc). [2]

These are catastrophic figures. They are unsustainable by any measure of taxpayer to tax fleecer ratio that our far out leftest college professors, and their fascists acolytes, propose as a minimal excoriation of American flesh.

Still, these are only numbers.

When most people look at huge numbers like the ones here, the criminal activity of the situation can take on a surreal quality. It is simply hard to grasp the actual size of disaster, and, accordingly, hard to feel its impact on a personalized level.

That’s just the way numbers can be. They’re just not very descriptive. So, to get a fuller picture of the costs of sanctuary cities and the impact of criminal illegal aliens, we must rely upon to more descriptive accounting.

Of the enumerable accounts of criminal activities by illegal aliens, there those that stand out as particularly tragic. For instance, last March in the San Fernando Valley, California, a young mother of two was driving to her destination with probably no idea that a traffic accident which occurred some where else would fatefully involve her. It did because the illegal alien who caused that car crash decided to break the law, yet again, by fleeing the scene of an automobile accident. As he sped down the street to avoid law enforcement, he struck the mother’s car and killed her.

He had been previously deported 5 times, but without a border wall he just kept walking back in to America.

This is the type of deadly collateral damage surrounding Americans that is represented by an estimated 11 million (a ridiculously low estimate) illegal aliens, many of whom are potential sleeper cells. They can go off at any time and in nearly any place and find Americans as they go about their innocent pursuits. And then vanish across the border. [3]
